Way I heard it, during filming of "The Bandit" the director came up to him one day and said something like "Jerry, we're almost done with the filming and we still don't have a theme song." Jerry disappeared for about 4 days. No one knew where he was. Turned out he locked himself in a motel room. Came out 4 days later and handed the director the theme song.
True or not, he was a great talent.

Haha, and here I was thinking I was the only one. Music is too wide to limit to one genre. Jerry Reed was a Genious.
I wanna say the same as LindzFields and thanks for sharing these golden treasure gems and i'm a metal head at heart but i listen to every kind of music and I'm sad I missed out on his good ol whole some songs :-( r.i.p. jerry reed but you will never be forgotten cuz ur eastbound and down ur way up to the big man highway in the sky :-)!!!

Thanks for this choice vintage Jerry Reed goodness. During these years of peak performing power, was there a more supremely gifted personality?
