Stellar Jay

One day this little stellar jay came to our house, and started fallowing me everywhere, and wouldn't leave me alone. I loved it. It kept coming back for a few days, acting just like a little pet, then one day it didn't come back. I hope it's still alive. but yeah, anyway, here's the first video of it. just nibbling my finger and hopping around my leg, that sort of thing. i didn;t know it pooped on my pants untill after I took the video. Watch for when it puffs up.

It's a baby bird who lost it's mother and needs to be fed. That is why is flaps its wings....FEED IT.

All the stellar jay wanted was some food!! Hopefully it didn't die from starvation or a predator.

I feed stellar jays and squirrels all the time in my back yard. Stellar Jays fly onto my legs and grab peanuts from them. I can also chuck peanuts up into the air and the stellar jay can catch them. Amazing!!! Great eye-wing-beak coordination!!

Last summer, I let them fly on my leg all the time. They started to become greedy and would peck my leg. One of them also flew into my house!!

Cute little bird!

I once was playing fetch with a dog we were trying out as a pet. The dog discovered a grounded Scrub Jay fledgeling on the ground and, *ahem* killed it. The parents were distraught and I felt incredibly guilty.

We didn't keep the dog.
