Gilad Shalit: negotiations held in Cairo

IN THE FIELD: Two Israeli envoys left Cairo talks late on Monday after prisoner exchange talks with islamist group Hamas involving Franco-Israeli private Gilad Shalit fell short of reaching a deal. PM Ehud Olmert accused Hamas of taking an "extremist" stance.
