Aww! Mine does that too! But only when she's standing in front of the opener. And when I dont take her out fast enough, she'll start running back and forth!

I don't think it's just coincidence that your hamster loves you so much/is so well behaved, especially because your new one is too. I just think you are a really good owner. I feel like most people get small pets and just let them sit in a cage an occupy themselves, and they're surprised when their pet doesn't respond well to them.

All my black bear hamsters are affectionate~ its the matter of taming and bonding
I never understand why people can't handle them...and I got mine from a breeder who couldn't take them anymore cuz he kept getting bitten. I never got bitten once after he gave them to me...all 7 of them.

You are so lucky to have such an affectionate, well behaved BB hamster! If I bribe with a yogurt drop and sit there for about 10 minutes mine MIGHT voluntarly go into my hand.

thanks - she was the cutest little thing. It did take quite a lot of tlc to get her to be this affectionate!
