growing up is hard, yes, but we ALL have to do it. if you want to read about pain and suffering to be cathardic then read about being an emo. prime places, myspace and live journal. before you know it joe schmo will come and look at your comment and go "hay being an emo is comparable to the irish and french unrest" then they spew the sefl satisfied crap to anyone wholl listen

P.S. I mean "strife", not "stife"!

I was just sharing some of the things which inspire me with a young poet who's having a rough time at school.
It's the feelings expressed in these poems and how they are expressed which I think might interest him.
If you've ever been bullied really badly, you'll know that reading about pain + stife can be cathartic.
Yes; the plight of one person is obviously less serious than civil war, but growing up is also difficult.
Poetry might help him deal with problems.
shoot me for sharing!

don't you even try to compare being emo to french and irish discontent.

I think you might like Baudelaire-The Flowers of Evil.He wrote about decay and disillusionment in Paris.Translations r quite easy to get, unless you're lucky enough to read French well(unlike me!).Seamus Heaney is good too;really rich descriptions, with the Irish troubles bubbling away in the background. As for school, remember: most of the haters won't achieve much with their future lives and u only have to go thru it once,so do your best+ try 2 ignore them. Keep writing and believing in yourself.
