its possible to do this really on most systems up to certain limits.
the add ons are running the programme by passing the limitations of parts of the original hardware.
a super cpu, a 16mb memory upgrade, obviously there are limitations with bottlenecks in the connections through the original hardware.
but hardware addons for the atari falcon, amiga, c64 and others has allowed old hardware to do things they were never design to do, or ever capable off.
@cynkro the c64 can handle still images at that resolution and quality but it can't handle a full video due to the limited RAM. For that you need a RAM pack I imagine

Am really loving these c64 vids, reminds me of the time I tried to make a graphics card filter for my old ATi card that would render all OpenGL games in just the c64 colours.

it,s so hard to believe that this is all running on a c64,i want to see such demo for the nes with 4bit or 1bit pcm to save power.
