@mariandelochs You may find that very little in the entire Opera compares with this exquisite duet. Indeed, it seems to be a work apart -- as if it was composed on an altogether more exhaulted level and then inserted in the Opera. . . Anyone who has heard this would be well-advised to search out the version sung Della Casa. . . On hearing it, they will I am sure instantly know what it means. . .

Indeed, Frau Rothenberger was a beautiful lady;I saw her a few years ago in Salenstein(switserland) in her house. We had a nice talk and she was so gracious.She was 80 years old at that moment.
I took some beautiful pictures with her and hold these as te best souvenir of this great Lady.
Brava,Anneliese,we we'll never forget you! May she rest in peace.
