Harmony: The Quest For Companionship was born out of my interest in Comparative Mythology and the Hero's Journey, the ideas presented by C.G. Jung in the Collective Unconscious, as well as Joseph Campbell.

It all began by a great research on the topic, trying to focus in the most important and relevant points of someone's (the hero's) journey.

The animation process was long and hard for me, since I had little to no experience in classical animation, but the chances it gave me were amazing! The project was completed successfully and on time, giving me a nomination for Best Project Management! - which is kind of silly, really...

I hope you all find this a little interesting :) Please, comment!!

  • Is there any particular software you used to make this?

Very creative by the way, I enjoyed it very much. Good job. =)

  • Thanks!

This was done mostly on Adobe After Effects :) and all the graphics were done or treated in Illustrator, Photoshop, and Flash - hope that helps :)

  • This was quite interesting. I think I noticed references to the Jungian anima/animus ideas and the "path of trials" on Campbell's hero's journey. Was that thing with wings supposed to be an animal guide or something? And the thing the yin-yang symbol was bouncing through--was that supposed to be a mandala or labyrinth?

  • Yeah, there are loads of references. The thing with wings was a raven, the yin&yang's animal guide in the underworld.

In the last sequence, it was a mandala - referring to the symbol of the universe, earth & heaven.

  • nice and sympatic movie :)

  • thank you ^^

  • Duality being the illusion that is this "reality," and myth being an expression, the rainbow bridge, to that realm where there is no time, no space. The journey within.
