@winwin997 What has your somewhat racist comment got to do with Jeremy Brett and Sherlock Holmes? You should probably read 'The Adventure of the Yellow Face', by the way. It'll teach you that Holmes (and Arthur Conan-Doyle) was not racist.

@lizmil It is sad that two of the greatest Holmes suffered badly after loosing their wives; Cushing and Brett. It is so sad that these great actors, and according to almost everyone nice people, had to go through so much.

The interviewer is right--the years had been good to him at this point (about 1985? His wife Joan Wilson had died by then, he mentions in the second half). It is shocking to see how badly he declines physically just a few years after this interview, and still while only in his late fifties. HE looks great here, and so charming and gracious.

I find Jeremy Brett a very calming presence. He seems tranquil, and of course his voice is always a pleasure to listen to.

Just watched the new bbc Sherlock re-imagining of hound of the baskervilles & just needed to pay a visit with dear Jeremy Brett. It is a brave soul indeed who dares to stand on the shoulders of giants. Just because you can doesnt mean you should.

JB will always be with us.
He took one of the hardest roles ever written and made it totally his own. No actor could wish for a better epitaph.
