  • The interviewer is right--the years had been good to him at this point (about 1985? His wife Joan Wilson had died by then, he mentions in the second half). It is shocking to see how badly he declines physically just a few years after this interview, and still while only in his late fifties. HE looks great here, and so charming and gracious.

  • If England will be taken over by the Chinese it will be goodbye to wit, humor and charm of this kind......

  • I find Jeremy Brett a very calming presence. He seems tranquil, and of course his voice is always a pleasure to listen to.

  • Just watched the new bbc Sherlock re-imagining of hound of the baskervilles & just needed to pay a visit with dear Jeremy Brett. It is a brave soul indeed who dares to stand on the shoulders of giants. Just because you can doesnt mean you should.

  • @whitecrane659 - Hahah....well said. Love it.

  • Jeremy is so magnificent a man and actor. I am so sad I discovered him only after he passed. He is sorely missed. Rip, love

  • JB will always be with us.

He took one of the hardest roles ever written and made it totally his own. No actor could wish for a better epitaph.

    RIP legend.

  • sherlock holmes played the best jeremy brett ever

  • I would have loved to meet Jeremy such a charismatic chap, love his work and his commanding personality and voice

  • @bookishmuch yeah, remember the sussex vampire episode (or was the adaptation called 'the last vampyre'?) when he turned round at the beginning with the vampire fangs etc. etc. and Watson freaked out, he looked perfect for Dracula--reckon it's the slicked back hair personally :p
