No you just reset their appearance and put their equipment back to default. All rank and challenges remain intact.

Not sure, I dont own the PC version. Perhaps like most PC games you can do WAY more customization in that version

yes you could custom for ps3 but you need to have online

you can make a custom character on all versions of the game so get it for the ps3 although i personally like the xbox 360 better thats your decision
