Was it gill flukes? I just bought a discus yesterday and put him in my display tank (I should have quarentined him) and now he is doing the same thing as your discus. He is breathing fast and one gill is clamped but he is still moving fine and eating well. I am just curious if it is gill flukes or the fact that the pH of his petstore water was ~6 and the nitrates were closer to 200ppm and he has had quite a shock since my water has a pH of ~7.2 and nitrates around 5 ppm.
