That is a perfect image of me and my daddy. He is a very nice man! It almost makes me cry remembering mine. :,)

Joan Blondell is so cool as Sissy!

@suzannesadiiqa every dad should have a daughter who is just as active and mature that makes her dad feel special. Nowadays girls are so different. Plagued by what they see online or on tv.

Katie and Aunt Sissie reminds me so much of my mother (Katie) and her sister Rita (Sissy). Mom worked, and worked and seldom enjoyed life, Aunt Rita didn't have kids of her own, we were her kids when she visted and she was always fun, sharp witted, and had a few husbans under her belt. I miss them both.

She's supposed to call all of them "John"

@mrspopp123 I'm in the 7th grade, and still reading the book. My mum read it when she was in college, and non-stop talked about it. On a special day, she gave it to me, as a gift from the heart. it took her forever to find it. I knows i love to read and write and read just like ( i do it 24/7) Francie, so inside the book she wrote, how she wanted this to encouraged me, and to pass it down to my 7 month baby neice Marlie, or to my daughter when they get older <3 I hope you do pass it down too<3

I loved reading this book in 7th grade. I look forward to the day my daughter reads it.

Very sad I agree. But Francie is a great symbol of the hope that a decent education plus heart and can make a difference.
Every little girl should have a dad like that to make her feel so good about herself.

@dudeness42 i think they changed it because the dads name is johnny, and it mightve caused confusion for ppl who hadnt read the books :)
