- the sniveling "retreater" with the 1001 failed global domination plans from the 80s series
- the comedic and bumbling oaf in the CGI Spy Troops and Valor Vs Venom
- the over the top but "all style no substance" generic from Sigma 6

This guy is everthing his original toy bio says Cobra Commander should be . Hatred and Evil Personified. A Man without Scruples, the most dangerous man alive

Like I said, Cobra Commander throwing fits  would be the last thing you want, lol.

However, the IDW version is very nasty. Red Skull-nasty. In short, he would even disgust the Joker.

This is basically the 80s version with balls. He still throws sissy fits, still has over the top plans, but also has the ruthless side of the comics character.

So basically he's the old animated version + the comics version here, and it works pretty well.

There is a lot of symbolism and intentional projection in the commander, which is why I prefer the mirror mask to the hood: You look that fucker in the eye and see YOURSELF staring back at you and RIGHTLY SO.

Why did they pick the scientist who didnt wear proper protective grear and got into a lab accident??? Thats a sure sign of a buffoon there.
