Have you considered potential narrative threads in Django Unchained? The paternal aspect in particular seemed interesting. Yet it reminded me more of a homicidal version of "Rosenkrantz and Guildenstern are Dead".

I enjoyed Django, but rate it mid-drawer Tarantino personally. As a political statement it was a fairly brave movei, but there were too many parts (esp in the last 20 mins) that felt like dumbed down commercial vices. I liked Inglorious Basterds more personally.

there would never be product placement from McDonald's on a low budget film from an unknown director. maybe u were kidding. in fact this scene is unusable because of it, as well as the terrible casting of the woman

I thought the woman was ok in the role. What makes you think there would never be product placement of McDonalds in a low budget film? Of course there can be. It's not just a case of Mcdonald's seeking out the film maker, it can happen the other way around. A joke maybe yes, but don't forget Pulp fiction "Le big Mac" banter.

The SIlver Surfer does not ride on waves of ice. He rides a silver board, nothing else.

I thought that woman was Embeth Davidtz (Army of Darkness) but I found out its Nina Siemaszko who starred in Wild Orchid 2 as a character named Blue, funnily enough.

I noticed Eddie makes a direct reference to "the Bonnie situation" from Pulp Fiction, if I remember correctly Bonnie worked in a hospital. I love Tarantino's references and inter-connectivity between his various works. Nice little things for dedicated viewers who pay attention.

The McDonald's in the background in the deleted scene may have another purpose: McDonald's is sometimes referred to as "Mickey D's"(they were calling it this in some 1990s commercials as well), so it may be a way of underlining the importance of the joke Holdaway tells in this scene(Mickey D. = Mickey Dolenz).Of course this brings up the question of just why this joke is important to the subtext.

Knowing exactly where to put them, and how to cut in the surrounding scenes, is difficult and needs the hand of the director to do it properly. They can't just be plonked in at any timeline-appropriate point.
