This tornado ripped off the roof of an abandoned house, knocked over some trees, snapped electric poles, and scattered light debris such as shingles and insulation foam. After going back to review damage, we estimated that we got within about 1.4 miles away from the tornado when it crossed the road.
Damage Survey by the NWS:
A TRACK OF EF2 DAMAGE EXTENDED FROM 3 MILES NORTHWEST OF LADORA TO 6 MILES NORTHWEST OF MARENGO. THIS PATH IS ROUGHLY 6 MILES LONG AND 75 YARDS WIDE. THIS DAMAGE OCCURRED ROUGHLY BETWEEN 230 PM AND 245 PM SUNDAY AFTERNOON. MARENGO IS LOCATED ABOUT 30 MILES NORTHWEST OF IOWA CITY...OR 25 MILES SOUTHWEST OF CEDAR RAPIDS.
THE EF2 DAMAGE INDICATED WIND SPEEDS WERE APPROXIMATELY 120 MPH.

This is right off of grant st in ladora it is the gravel that leads to 212 it goes right past kovars and the jacobs place

Do you know what road you were on? G Ave, H Ave, somewhere in that area? Is this between Ladora and 212 or were you north of 212? I live in Ladora, the guy I'm seeing lives north of Koszta, this got within about a mile and a half of his place. We checked out the damage / storm path and saw at least three places it hit, at least 5 large power poles down, trees uprooted, the path it took through fields etc. I'm trying to tell where you shot this. @DixDee Sorry for the late reply. Included in the description is now a link to Jeff's writeup. At the very bottom of his page, you can see our entire GPS track for the day. It should be able to give you a better idea of where we were at.
