Kodak EasyShare Z1012 Video Review PART1

The Kodak Easy Share Z1012 IS Digital Camera is a High Performance camera that you can pick up at a reasonable price. Its capable of producing 10.1 Mega-Pixel Digital photos and video capture in High Definition up to 720p.

One thing in particular that i love about this unit is how it feels in your hand. Unlike many other digital cameras, you can easily capture challenging action shots with one hand because of its SLR-like design.

This camera packs an all glass 12x Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon Optical Zoom Lens which also features its best-in-class click-to-capture speed of 0.23 seconds. With this, you can capture those challenging action shots without delay.

All-in-all, It is easy to use, i got to know how to work all its features within an hour. I was amazed to find out how clear the photos come out when taken at 10MP. This in some ways is both a pro as well as a con because well, you see every imperfection in someone's face when taking a close-up.

This camera offers a nice variety of shooting modes, some require a little bit of reading to know what the settings effect. The Z1012 offers the following shooting modes:

Smart Capture: This mode is For general picture taking, It offers excellent image quality and ease of use. simply point-and-shoot and the best settings will be adjusted for you.

Sport: This mode sets the camera to optimize images for quick moving subjects.

High ISO: Increases the ISO for taking pictures in low-light.

Scene: Allows you to select from a range of different presets, including Portrait, fireworks, stage, backlight and many more.

Panorama: Assists you in taking multiple pictures that will later be stitched into a single wide-view image, something like a David Hockney photo.

Manual: This setting offers the highest level of creative control.

Shutter Priority: This mode Prevents blur when your subject is moving. The camera automatically sets the aperture for proper exposure.

Aperture Priority: This mode controls the range of sharpness.

Program: This mode offers the ease of auto shooting with full access to all menu options. The camera automatically sets the shutter speed and aperture based on the scene lighting.

Video: High-Definition (1280 x 720) movie mode, High-Quality (640 x 480) movie mode and small size (320 x 240) movie modes with optical zoom available.

With this camera, you don't always have to shoot with the picture size being 10MP, you have the options of choosing the following:

It is also good to know that this camera can produce a max image size of 3672 x 2748 so for all you photoshop junkies out there, do you think that is high enough of a resolution for you?

Must get a adapter to charge this camera it is great but has a very big flaw it uses battery life way way to quickly.

Would this camera be good for moving pictures or action shots.. and can it take snap shots??
