Fuck man, This is why I became a officer. To make sure fuck ups like these never happen! We need senior leadership that understands afghanistan not the ones who still have their heads still in their asses from iraq. I've been in for 4 years and had 2 combat deployments there. This was shitty logistics and the C.O. didn't have a damn clue of what he was sending these men into. That base was lost quicker then it was even tought of.

@ SmittySmitha Which makes NO SENSE to me, you train, and train for this scenario. And your're told to do the complete opposite. If they were sent in there to be decoys, then DAMN IT give them the complete assets to protect themselves. And not be sitting ducks to be slaughtered.

@nekidbob The problem was that they did not expand on that base. They should have built an outpost on the highground instead of just having one base to sit there with no purpose other than to be attacked.

@thehotshirtguy2008 Thank God in heaven you made it out a live Brother. From what I here they're doing the same shit they did in Vietnam. Getting permission to fire upon the enemy when you're being shot at. My cousin was suppose to come home in 2012 (Iraq) , but guess what he and his Unit are going to be shipped out to Afghanastian. I know we have the best fighting force on the planet. But if the Soviet's couldn't win what makes our leader's think we will. Welcome Home Brother, we LOVE YOU!!

@nekidbob Hearts and Minds is the priority now. I got out because of all the mistakes the senior leadership was making in the name of hearts and minds. 11B20 OIF 2 OIF 7

This is just in excusable, those boys were sent in to a death chamber. Down in a valley surrounded on all sides by mountains to be shot down upon. I served for 22yrs, and was always taught take the high ground. Whoever gave this command decescion should've been relieved of his duty. And not even allowed to flip burgers for a living. What a DUMBASS!!!
