"For 4 decades this was the finest jet in the NATO inventory".
Firstly it was in service for exactly 7 years, and secondly it was one of the WORST aircraft in the NATO inventory - hence it being dumped so prematurely.

You mean "what if" he knew something about the Supermarine Swift?

The swift was no where near the finest. An F3H (still like that aircraft) could've done better.

Thank god for mue button

The Swift had a very nice wing shape. Apart from that it was 100% crap and rightfully vanished from sight, leaving the Hawker Hunter thoroughbred to reign supreme. Incidently, the Swift was a total beast to service. Great flight sim images though.
The fuselage marking is 79 Squadron

This aircraft was indeed an awful one. Altough it should have been a true gem for Britain in the early fifties, it proved so difficult to develop that it was ultimately relegated to the photo-reconnaissance role. It was the only one this aircraft could fulfil since it could not fly to normal altitudes ! Photo-reconnaisance duties need to fly low...

Chill Ranger, this is a 'what if' scenario.

True. Out of a total of 497 ordered aircraft, only 197 were built.

Music? Is that what it is? Thought it was an engine eating itself. Each to their own tho. Good vid.

nice vid....but whats with the music?
4 decades in service (?) - you must be joking! The Swift saw only a few years in service - 1956 to 1961. Get the facts! Awful, awful sound track.

The whole video was produced with tongue very much firmly in lodged in cheek. The demographic for Microsoft Flight Simulator (like most computer games) is, in the vast majority, teenage and male, so they were the target audience. And hence the choice of a soundtrack which would be popular with young people.
