  • ONE OF MY FAVORITES!

  • @bob4247 mine too, now....for most of us, this was our first time playing it. A couple takes, then we hit the record button.

  • @ModernSaxDotCom I have a version on Soundcloud. Since I can't type in the address iI have to give it to you this way… Soundcloud dotcom forward slash bobrutkas. It is contained in a set of five tunes.

  • @bob4247 nice, what were you using for the back up music?

  • @ModernSaxDotCom The piano, bass and drums are real. The Soprano in the 1st and last chorus is me playing my Yani Soprano. The trumpet and tenor harmony on the 1st and last chorus are synth voices off of my Roland SC 8800. The soloing tenor is me on my Mark VI. I wrote the arrangement, which isn't saying too much because I followed Shorter's manuscript closely. I was going to do the solo with the Soprano but for odd reason decided to use the tenor.

  • @bob4247 cool man!

  • @ModernSaxDotCom Thank you for the complement.

  • @ModernSaxDotCom This was all recored to Logic Studio, where it was sweetened with EQ, dynamics, and so on an edited, new punch-ins, as needed and mastered.
