This is the first star sound EVER made visible, quite a milestone in the history of the world! Imaged on the CymaScope www.cymascope.com

Star HR 3831A, discovered by Professor Don Kurtz, of the University of Central Lancashire Centre for Astrophysics, UK.

This is a rapidly oscillating star, known as an roAp* star. It has an interesting acoustic signature that manifests beautifully on the CymaScope and features distinctive geometry that could provide a useful analog for future students of asteroseismology and for outreach projects.

The Cymatics video was imaged by John Suart Reid in the Sonic Age UK lab using the CymaScope. www.cymascope.com

  • Woa this reminds me of The Sound of Stars by Donald Adams! He's a scientist who makes sound frequency files that generate frequency patterns of tons of different things in nature, consciousness, and the cosmos like stars and planets! You should definitely check his work out!! It's on soundofstars(dot)org!!! (Also spiralstarz(dot)com!!!) :)
