Live at London's Barbican under the banner of 'The Soul of Curtis Mayfield' on Friday 10th June 2011 this is the Impressions first UK gig in a very long time. Walked on stage to a standing ovation...Here are 'Gypsy woman' and part of 'Its all right.....' their opening two numbers. Backed by a fantastic band the sound was true to the original recordings - the vocals and harmonies from these guys well they were absolutely outstanding. Great occasion.

  • ...any more great clips??

  • @vangel64 ~ Sorry but I have posted everything I got.

  • Hello, I promoted this concert and am pleased the reaction from everyone was so good.

This was the band's first ever show in 53 years! They have played in the UK before but never to a paying crowd in London.

I will definitely be bringing them back in 2012....

  • @agmpconcerts - Thank you it was an outstanding show and they were so gracious afterwards signing and posing for photographs, I'll buy an advance ticket now.

  • Accurate description of the show...it was perfect in every way. Thanks for the excellent posting!

  • The Liverpool Five in 1965 were the first English group to recognize Cutis' talents with their recordings of " Sister Love" and "That's what Love will do". They are both on You Tube and well worth checking out....RIP Curtis.

  • Thank you for this upload. It was, indeed, a memorable night!!

  • Great to see Fred Cash and Sam Gooden still going strong. Both are incredibly nice people and great singers!

  • Is the show going to be available on DVD soon?

  • @max1neb Thanks! It was a truly memorable evening and the band were lovely human beings.

  • Been a huge fan of the Impressions since the early 60's. ( I think I have most, if not all, of their Albums) I was worried about going to the show in case they were 'passed their sell by date' How wrong I was. Fabulous Show. Please bring them back. Thanks for posting
