  • Yeh, AnimalLoversWeb, you tell 'em!

We've got tons of room for our 2 Gloucester girls and their paddock didn't fare too well, either, with that awful prolonged, heavy rain we had.

Of course if mindsqueze has useful solutions to preventing the vagaries of the British winter-weather extremes, then British pig-keepers would love to hear them ;-)

Pigs quickly turn good, firm ground into quagmires in wet weather and that has little to do with poor animal husbandry/care

  • Thanks for the support and pointing out some pig basics here.

  • Hey, this is one small section of their enclosure which is a several acre forest at an award winning Farm, for the care of their animals, Pepperfield Farm. They also won an RSPCA business award.

It was also during a very rainy period of weather. If you followed the link to our website and blog you would have discovered these details.

  • I'm a big Gloucestershire Old Spot fan - these look like lovely examples of the breed !

  • You're very welcome :-)

Our piggies don't even go out much when it's raining and stay cuddled up together, snout-to-snout in their cosy house. It's raining here now, as I type and I've just been to check on our girls - they were nicely tucked up in their bed - as expected ;-)

    Pigs are just sooooo sensible!
