Army Armaments r85 Airsoft Gun Review

A quick review of the Army Armaments R85 airsoft gun, the clone of the British Army L85/SA80 bullpup rifle. Apologies if I speak too fast or Scottish for you, I only have the one working accent.

The gun cost £160 and needs work right out of the box, but does benefit from being almost completely metal and very chunky looking. Accuracy is not great and they benefit from replacing the barrel and hop-up with tighter, better quality items. It looks good, power is good and they're still pretty uncommon on the skirmish sites.

@huntermanone I got mine from Landwarrior Airsoft on one of the few occasions they appeared. They were so rare that on the odd occasion they appear, they sell out in days.

is the gun lipo ready because i bought a 11.1 lipo battery for it

@airsoftbryan This gun is so not Lipo ready you wouldn't believe it. An 11.1v lipo puts a great strain on any gun, running them at outrageous speed, and if there's any weakness in the gearbox or motor then this will find it. If your SA-80 gearbox isn't upgraded already, chances are it's going to go sooner rather than later if you run the 11.1v It will be great fun while it lasts though.

Tried to fit my bayonet to my friends one of these at the damn thing fell off, nice system but i hear the G&GA2 is out and has been almost perfected

@InfantryChans91 - I haven't seen one yet, there's a couple of guys with tweaked AA ones like this and a couple of Star ones, including an LSW, but no G&G A2s yet. It would be great if someone makes a good one right out the box.

@airsoftbryan upgrade the gearbox and buy a real steal a2 hand guard, then you will be able to run a 7.4 lipo , this will increase ur rof and the single shot issue which is common with the r85.

@gunboy1998 Pull back the bolt and apply the bolt locking lever and it is easily accesed inside there mate
