This is personal footage I took when I visited with my Mum and Dad for the first time since 1978 as an 11 yr old (Im NZ born by the way). We went to the memorial of the Tsunami in Sept 2010. We lost 3 family members who were living at the beachside of Nonoa in Lalomanu. My dad was born and raised there since 1944 and is one of the Matais there but currently lives in Auckland.
It is a simple tribute to the memory not only of those that have passed but also those that are still living ... I didnt want to place or use photos or imagery from the devastation but I wanted to see the hope, sadness and joy in the eyes of our people young and old ... malo Samoa
