Soprano Simone Kermes sings the first part of Arbace's aria "Vo solcando un mar crudele" from the opera "Artaserse" by Leonardo Vinci (1696?-1730). The second aria is Nicola Antonio Porpora's "Tocco il porto" from the opera "Lucio Papirio". This opera was given during the Carnival 1737 at the Teatro di San Cassiono in Venice. The part of Quinto Fabio was sung by the famous castrato Felice Salimbeni. Two tracks from Simone Kermes' latest CD "Lava", featuring opera arias from 18th century Naples written for the great castratos of the period. Simone is accompanied by Claudio Osele and his orchestra Le Musiche Nove playing on authentic instruments.

Here's another fan of Genet's and Kermes's! Both rock! (Not that they're related in anyway other than making my life enjoyable!)
