On August 2009, I visited one of the most beautiful places in the world. This Valley was introduced to the world as the Valley of Flowers by Frank S, Smith - mountaineer, explorer, botanist who camped here for several weeks in the monsoon of 1937 and did valuable exploratory work. He authored a book called "The Valley of Flowers" which unveiled the beauty and floral splendours of the valley and thus threw open the doors of this verdant jewel to nature-enthusiasts all over the world.
It took 3 hours from Ghangaria, a base town for trekking to Valley of flowers and Hemkund, and is not so hard way and enjoyable with a lot of nice landscapes. The Valley is situated at high in Hymalaya, it's altitude is about 3500m. I saw many blue popies along the mountain road, which is a ledendary flower in Himalaya .
