JAMBALAYA Cover by detectivelew, accompanied by bbdhrggl

"Jambalaya (On the Bayou)" is a song credited (with controversy) to American country music singer Hank Williams. It was first released in 1952. The Jo Stafford cover in 1952 reached #3 on the Billboard pop charts and made the song well known to non-country music fans. It was further popularized in a Rock 'n Roll version by Fats Domino. The Carpenters featured the song in their 1973 album Now & Then. Their version was released as a single outside the United States in 1974 and sold well in the U.K. and Japan. Many well-known U.S. artists have performed the song. Covers were also made in Dutch, Estonian, French, German, Indian, Italian, Mexican, Polish, and likely more.

  • I just love the air-guitar bit but with a guitar - novel!

Not a bad voice though and I'm all for these 'behind-the-scenes' bits.

  • You a cajun? You look like one of mi boys except for that silly mstache, and get rid of that yankee accent.

  • A piroque is a canoe that is made out of one huge part of a tree. And, of course you know what the Bayou is, I'm sure.

  • You sent this place a buzzin'...Great job for an oldtimer!

You've come a long way from "the looney bin"

  • Me oh my oh! That was good, but you should cut out that last part.
