This is a race I had last night, not sure how much boost the Skyline is running but it's a decent amount, maybe 14 psi or something

  • Can someone clarify.

Twin Turbo's on both cars, V6, same suspension same height, same everything else. Would it be even? or is the skyline motor just better?

  • @reece6210 Well this is a RB straight six inthe Skyline and a 5 litre Holden V8 in the Commodore, both in the same car on the same boost the Holden 5 litre would be much quicker just because it's twice the size. Unmodified the Skyline motor can take more boost because the Holden V8 only has 4 bolts around each cylinder in the heads, so the head gaskets will blow out with alot of boost since it was never designed for this kind of thing.

  • @reece6210 But since the nissan motor is half the size it would have to in order to run 20 psi to make the same power as the 5 litre on 10 psi. Bigger motors have allways had the advantage and even with turbos that is still the case

  • Australian engines are ok, but the japanese have got some serious powerful engines going on in their R&D department.

  • it's not about what's faster in top speed it's about circuit racing and drag racing isn't real racing because it doesn't focus on all aspects of racing such as cornering.

  • @DeathSword22 As incredibly intelligent as you sound, you are almost certainly confusing Skyline 'GT-R's with the other 'GT' models.

And I think I know exactly how big the floor is in my car thanks mate (Y)

  • @Donz2750 um the R35 is 1 $100k car the ve v8 is $35k car make it even at least walkinshaw performance clubsport but with stocck ve rims $100k put that around nurburging

  • lolz all u skyliners are funny lolz your skylines aren't as shit hot as you think lolz the only reason you have the upper hand is your turbo lolz and it aint your car its the driver and your r/t. for instence i used to flog shit outta skylines in an old 84 300zx z31 they never stood a chance until they got 4th and held till the turbo spooled fully so insteed of bagging the holden look at the floors in your own car lolz coz they are biggr then you think lol

  • @twinturbo300zx Mate speak for urslef ? hp rules didnt come into affect until 92, the only rule that they had was like a 700 hp limit,93 there was no more group abc it was just commys and falcons,it was then when the hp rules came in 2 place new direction new rules, and also skylines had the advantage of a 4wd system much better for handling race circuits such as bathurst etc. research hey!
