@cearleywine The ONLY reason to use step rec. mode is if you need to program velocity or filters opening up or whatever with precision. I don't know if this instrument even offers velocity control for filters in step edit mode anyway. If it's just hitting the note in time then step editing is a complete waste of time. Unless you have absolutely zero rhythm. But then again, if you didn't, you probably wouldn't be into creating music.

I've yet to use the step mode, it seems way more tedious than to play it live.

Sorry to bother, I have a question mate. My DR 202 when I turn it on says "SYSTEM ERROR / PRESS ENTER KEY " after I do nothing happens. Has this happened to you before?
