Apache, by Ed Macy - one of the pilots, tells the story. Excellent book

Has anyone written about this rescue mission ? Would like to read it, thanks

Absolutely amazing and very courageous rescue mission in hostile territory by the Royal Marines. Is it true, they went against the higher orders and went back to rescue Lcpl Ford ?
These boys never leave their own behind. Very uplifting, but tinged with sadness. RIP Lcpl Matt Ford
P.S
Please, I hope the the British film producers make a film about this event. It would be a hit

@MrStig691 You're wrong mate look it up in the news. The marine they where trying to rescue was all ready killed they went back to recover his body. They put there lives in great danger so that the family could have there sons funeral. So get of you're high horse and don't discredit our forces. They disobeyed a direct order not to do it and even the pilot left his cockpit to help find the body leaving his Apache untended in enemy territory. They ended up with medals.
