Chasing trains: the 5629, April 1969

In April 1969 I joined a carload of Cleveland area railfans, members of the Midwest Railway Historical Foundation (MRHF), bound for Detroit to help Dick Jensen prepare his ex-GTW 5629 for a Michigan Railroad Club excursion to Port Huron over the Grand Trunk Western Railroad.

I am not exactly sure how this was arranged, but I think MRHF had committed some volunteer service as partial payment for the restoration of the 4070.

Of course I took my camera along and got some movies of the trip, engine servicing, and a cab ride.
