1: It was not his decision. The CHURCH decided he gets the bulletproof car. He actually tried to confront the shooter and forgive him but the CHURCH wouldn't allow it.
2. That question does not fully make sense and I'm assuming your asking why wouldn't God protect him. Well because religeon creates BALANCE and if god were to save every "Good" human being hoow would the world be?

1. If the pope really believes he's going to heaven when he dies then why protect himself? Why is he afraid of dying?
2. God is supposed to love those who believe in god. God created man in his image. Why would god not protect someone god loves when a human who is supposed to be created in gods image would protect a loved one.

The worst thing Christians ever did was claim that their religion is of a supernatural divinity (God). Heres God's supposed top rep here on Earth and he needs bullet proof glass?? If God must neglect the rest of humanity, ok but his number one guy? The most powerful being in the universe, creator of all things, the same god who destroyed cities, sent plagues, flooded the entire planet yet he cant protect his main guy.
