  • Is it bad that I bought a E flat? Should I be returning it and getting a D?

  • @CelineCascanettesing I have a Lord of the Rings - shire song that I posted on YouTube last year. I performed that on an E flat tin whistle. It's not bad at all. You should consider buying a D whistle too because the most popular key for tin whistle is D - but not always

  • Also, where can we find sheet music for the Tin Whistle??

  • @conse01 you can find free sheet music to download from flutetunes [dot] com, thesession [dot] org and abcnotation The piece I played at the beginning of this video I downloaded from abcnotation It is called "Jimmy Batty"

  • Thanks for the information...very nice!

What is a good Tin Whistle (Key of G) that isn't too expensive but doesnt sound tinny or cheap??

  • @conse01 I bought all my whistles from "The Whistle Shop" online. I got the Generation brand - they are all very good and inexpensive.

  • Thank you SO much for your lesson! You are a beautiful person...and have a natural friendly style of teaching! You have given me hope!!

  • When you play thre scale you don't show us how to get the higher octave. Is it just a case of blowing harder in order to get certain notes?

  • you will need 12 for all the keys lol

  • @Bassman: Breathing is mostly posture and practice. If you're still having trouble after a month or so, you can try gluing matchsticks on either side of the windway, but you shouldn't have to.

@Surfdigby: Squeaking is usually not getting the holes completely covered, or trying to blow one note when your fingers are playing a different one.

  • Okay. I got a tin whistle for Christmas and I've strated on the scales but I'm having difficulty with the breathing. How do I maintain a steady blow without running out breath myself? Also, is it necessary to touch the mouthpiece with your tongue.

  • Thank you!!!!

  • thanks congratulation, you are amazing.....
