Excuse me...i am an English-leaner...the sentence you speak at time 5:23 sounds like" Stacy will staging her acting career in Miami". Am i mistaken or something?

A few suggestions from a fellow teacher: I think it would be VERY useful if you included text on the screen or added them to the written description to show the words and sentences that you are pronouncing. A very useful site that can also help students is the University of Iowa's "Phonetics" website (Just Google it!) . It really helps students understand the placement of the lips and tongue. Good luck and happy learning!

Listen carefully to the video. You say: inG with a hard G at the end, however, when you say the words, you say it with (ing) no hard G sound. Ing is a sound which doesn't have a hard G at the end. You say the words correctly but when you introduce the sound you use that hard G sound. I also noticed the pronunciation of library. It sounded like "lie berry," but I know a lot of native speakers say it this way. :) I didn't listen to the whole video. I was looking for this sound for a student.

the error is not made between ing and in, it is made between ing and ine or een! this bugs the living hell out of me. here are just a few prominent americans who can't pronounce ing: gene hackman, tom brokaw, katie couric, jim leher and walter cronkite (i hate to say). the chick in this video is also to included in the list in some cases. listen to her say waiting. she like so many others who don't listen, says, waiteen. overall this video is a good effort but it may be hopeless.

Awesome ....... As for s474's comment, I'd like to say that your American accent is pretty cool and I watch ur videos to learn it.. Everyone has his own favorite accent that would like to learn ..
Your American Pronunciation makes this video pointless.

@s474 Thank you for your comment! I occasionally get this kind of feedback from Brits. I have great respect for other versions of English as my grandparents came from London. However, if you'd like to argue that American English has no value you'll be pretty lonely. There are 300 mil who speak American English, 30 mil speaking a similar dialect in Canada. That's the equivalent of 5 UK's where the latest census is around 60 mil. So what was it about my American accent that's pointless?

@pronunciationmeg Pronunciation of the English language. The clue's in the word "English". Americans often think their version of our language is superior. It isn't.

@s474 I'm not sure where you've concluded that. To say that we think we are superior is a stereotype we share with Brits. But here's the fact. I have met few Americans in my life who don't love British English and want to hear the accent (I live over here so I've met quite a few). My boss is married to a man from York and when he stops by everyone wants to hear him. The same happens to me when I call London. And, yes, there are idiots everywhere, in every country, who love putting others down.
