I just got back from Salinas and visited the Steinbeck Center. If you go, allow yourself about 3 hours to take in the terrific displays and exhibits. Huge, low-cost parking lot is right across the street. You could easily spend a full day checking out the neighborhood in "Old" Salinas, as well as the adjacent Rabobank agricultural museum which is also excellent.

This is my wife's favorite steinbeck book. We just went to the foundation on Monday. It was GREAT !!!
I couldn't find the Nobel Peace prize and I think this is where it should be placed.

This is cool. i lived in salinas and i went on a field trip there and the library and his house which i think is a restaurant now

YES! That is RIGHT! We went to the Steinbeck house--just missed lunch--LOL! I like the Steinbeck Library--it is WONDERFUL!
