Neema is six years old and is in Standard 1 at Naitolya Primary School in northern Tanzania.
Neema's father died a few years back and her mother Sophia supports her four children by collecting and selling charcoal. They used to farm the land around their house but now the land is too dry.
Neema's mother worries about the lack of water, but her priority is still for Neema and all her children to go to school, so that they can be independent and help her in her old age.
A project is underway in Tanzania to improve the education of girls at 60 schools in the country. The project will continue until 2012 and aims to help girls attend school -- and stay at school long enough to finish their education.
I wish her all the best in her life, and all the best to her family. I hope she has a successful life within the coming year. All the best, Neema.
Much love to all these kind of kids.
