In October of 2010, Javon Rakestrau, died after being tasered by deputies. His family has now filed a wrongful death lawsuit.
The lawsuit was filed by Javon Rakestrau's mother Deborah. In the lawsuit she claims her son Javon was wrongfully killed when he was tased by deputies. Rakestrau was stopped for a suspected drug deal in the Jackson Square Apartment Complex. According to the department Rakestrau became combative with deputies and they were forced to subdue him with a taser.
Witnesses who spoke to us at the time said they saw Rakestrau with his hands up during the stop.
Unresponsive after he was tased, Rakestrau was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
After an autopsy it was determined his cause of death was the result of complications of asthma, but the tasing was also listed by the coroner as a contributing factor.
Chris Guidry was put on paid administrative leave after the incident. An internal investigation was conducted by the sheriff's department. Guidry was cleared of any wrong doing and was put back on the force.
Any defense attorney will tell you. Listen to the police. If the charges are bad, you'll get them tossed in court. Since this dirtbag (look at his record,) chose not to listen, he died.
