You don't find it ridiculous to compare a song from the early 80s by a black pop artist to a cover done two decades later by a grunge singer? Compare Cornell to the David Cook ripoff if you want, but trying to compare Cornell to MJ is impossible because your opinion is entirely tained by genre preference. Unless you're huge Michael Jackson fan and you're saying "gotta admit, Cornell's version is better," then you have ZERO creditbility to make any kind of musical critque.
