Male and female Neptunea arthritica engaged in struggle after mating. The male (no paint in shell) is triying to control the female and guard her from mating with another male, to protect his chance to father as many offspring as possible. The female does not agree much and bites the male trying to get in the upright position and escape...These type of interaction can go on for as long as 8 hours or more, which might bring high costs to the females whom require higher energetic budgets for reproduction than males.
