  • The major difference between the flumpet and trumpet is actually different from that of the trumpet and typical flugelhorn...Dave has managed to somehow increase the particulars that help to produce the sound, but at the same time making the partials in the upper register farther apart, therefore allowing the horn to have every note produced to the maximum that the player can make....every note is spot on dead center and easier to play....and it is way more flexible than the typical flugelhorn..

  • Hey Boss you ever been in calgary

  • what makes a flumpet different from the trumpet

  • I thought maybe he just idolized stan getz.

  • @jazztrmpr94 Yeah, you can get a nice fluffy sound by taking of the pressure a bit. Heard it called a half embouchure.

  • its a flumpet...........

  • you spelled WYNTON wrong

  • Thats a flumpet.. monnet's new insturment. and that's not air... it's audio velvet :D

  • it sort of a style for this kind of ballad-like music

  • It's not a trumpet actually.. it's a flumpet, which is designed as trumpet-bugle/flugelhorn hybrid..

Which results in a strange instrument that has some Cornet influences as well..
