  • @VictorLepanto I totally agree. And don't mind the person who lashed out at you; Indians are generally a very defensive people, who are not fond of being criticized.

  • @pritamxm: So you do think that liberty is a privilege we earn? Am I to take it you wish the British Empire (who I assume were the authors of this engraving) were still around to teach the Indians how to be worthy of liberty? If you think that believing liberty is an intrinsic human right, to which we are entitled by nature & we can no more earn it then we can earn our own heads, is "immature;" you are too sad for words.

  • I find the sentiment engraved on the gate disturbing. Frankly, It is a disgusting statement. "Liberty must be earned?" A hideous notion.

    It sounds so terribly much like "Arbeit macht frei." Liberty is not a privilege to be earned.

    This is a tyrant & conqueror's sentiment.
