Tony The Tripper is the story of a journey with a grizzly vagabond and a young idealist. That young idealist was Eric D. Johnson twelve years ago, and the story is inspired from a chance meeting he had on a train ride from Chicago to Olympia. The road trip story is one that Eric has tried to tell several times in some form or another over the last decade, from play to movie, to the song which now sits at the heart of the latest album 'Tripper'.

Eric was passing through London recently with Fruit Bats, so we hooked up in Hoxton square to shoot this session amidst the autumnal leaves and setting sun.

Tripper is out now on Sub Pop. Go check it out, its mighty fine album -http://www.subpop.com/releases/fruit_...
