This might be the strangest game I've ever been to. The giveaway was a beer vender bobblehead, the game was against the Yankees (making it hard to believe the score), and with 25 total hits, not one was a homer. Let's begin, shall we?

1: We start in the second. With Chris Getz at bat and A.J. Pierzynski and Carlos Quentin on 1st and 3rd, he loads the bases.
2: A.J. Burnett walks Jayson Nix, bringing in the first run.
3: Scott Podsednik singles and plates CQ and Getz.
4: Gordon Beckham flies deep to right, doubling and plating Nix and Pods.
5: Jermaine Dye becomes the 6th consecutive batter to reach base, singling and plating Beckham. Sox lead 6-0 (and folks, stick around, there's more)
6: The Yankees try to respond in the 3rd. With John Danks pitching, Mark Teixeira singles and scored Jerry Hairston, Jr. and Derek Jeter.
7: Skip ahead to the 4th, Getz singles moving Paul Konerko to 3rd and Pierzynski to 2nd.
8: It's deja vu for Nix who gets his second bases loaded walk of the game. (He would walk twice more in the game.)
9: In the 6th, the Yanks get the run back. After Alex Rodriguez doubles, Jorge Posada walks, then Robinson Cano walks, Hairston, Jr. bloops a ball in to left. A-Rod scores, but Quentin makes a play at 3rd. It's your average fielder's choice 7-5.
10: In the 7th, A-Rod reaches first on a weak single and he brings Jeter home. The Yanks score their 4th run and are now only trailing 7-4.
11: To answer right back, Scotty Pods singles to drive in Getz. 8-4.
Get ready for some more fun! Here is all but two of the at bats from the bottom of the 8th.
12: Phil Coke comes in to pitch. Jim Thome singles.
13: Mark Kotsay (in for Paulie) singles.
14: A.J. Bloops a single, and Big Jim chugs home to score the first of the inning. (The throw moves A.J. to second and Kotsay to third.)
15: After a CQ intentional walk (Dewayne Wise in to run), Getz grounds to first, Cody Ransom steps on the bag and throws home. Posada can't handle it, misses the tag with his hand, tags with the glove (no ball), and Kotsay is safe.
16: After Nix's 4th walk (this time intentional) Scott Podsednik walks in his 4th RBI.
17: Beckham lines to left, doubling and plating two for the second time.
18: This would call for the removal of Mr. Coke and the fans let him hear it.
19: Mark Melancon comes in, gets JD to ground to first (scoring Pods) but Beckham floats off of third and they tag him out for the 3rd of the inning. Another routine play (6-3-5 DP) and another 6 run inning for the White Sox. The score is now 14-4.
20: Bobby Jenks returns after missing a few games, first getting Jeter to groud out.
21: Nick Swisher grounds out for the second out.
22: Tex grounds out for the final out and the Sox take 3 in a row from the Yankees.
Final: 14-4 Sox

  • @ThePhantom2K9 If you call having the worst collapse in baseball history the best team in history then congratulations. How was 1963, 1976, 1980, 2004?

  • Which is made clear by how badly they beat the Yankees, right?

They may not be having a great season this year, but try to comment on a video where they lose if you're trying to make some sort of point.
