  • I remember this scene from the movie!

  • Part of it was in the film. The talk about how Butterfield came up with "Taps" is not.

  • Why didn't they released the director's cut on DVD version?

  • I don'tknow, but the 150th anniversary of the battle and 20th anniversary of the film comes up in 2013 - maybe we'll get a surprise.

I love Kilrain, he is my favourite caracter.

  • Interesting....

    "Butterfield's Lullaby" = "Taps"

Never thought about that tune that way. Thanks for posting the deleted scenes!

  • I LOVE TOM CHAMBERLAIN!!!! He's my fav charitor. He's just so funny and good looking ;)

  • I remember reading that part in the book.

  • Before taps they used the French "lights out". Butterfield thought it to military, he wanted something softer, when evolved was taps

  • c thomas howell isn't a very good hummer... "ta ta ta dadada dadada dadada!!! you see, recalls the dan butterfield. dan dan dan butterfield butterfield butterfielddd"

"in the middle of a fight i'm supposed to remember that?"

"you can remember that! it's easy to remember- dan dan dan butterfield butterfield butterfieldddd"

  • @adamjohnwest This is a fact.! Its started as an uptempo tune but, Butterfield wanted something at night for the soldiers with a slower tempo.

  • @oli730 Taps was originally written very up-tempo. Butterfield latter had his buglar slow it down to what we know it today.

  • that's kinda funny for some reason

  • For those who saw this on TNT, I own a VHS of this and these scenes are not included, so yes they are now deleted scenes...
