If you look at the slo-mo, the one hummingbird lands on the mantis's leg, which is probably why he attacked instead of just trying to get away.

To be fair the Hummingbirds DID start this. But for a Mantis to take on and effectively attack a hummingbird (while so many others were around) i got to give it serious props!
Its like the more Mantis videos you watch the more awesome they get

@Stick636 Well duh Agility isn't very effective, Agility is a stat boosting move, not an attack.
Now, if Hummingbird had use Aerial Ace, that Scyther would have been toast.
