Unlike you, I wasn't surrounded by hate until I came out. Homosexuality just wasn't a thing talked about until your were one of them. I wasn't brought up with them mindset of bulling, and it being "wrong". It's like it came down on me the hardest because it happened all at once. Not saying that to disregard your feelings. To have it seeded in your mind that you're wrong before you even know what it is... I can't even place a feeling like that.
I don't think people say "No Homo" anymore.
