@Richard40171 if you'll look closely, I think Arlene did look a bit miffed. George did have a thing for the young lovlies, but he was also very close to Marlo's dad, Danny.
He was a treasure as was this show and the entire panel.

@tuxguys lol money

I don't understand why he kissed Marlo but not Arlene. Not very good manners.

He didn't get the disguise your voice part...

After 2:10 you can really hear the Dr. Zoidberg voice. (Jessel was the main influence for that character)

@tallpaul521 Nope, Marlo Thomas's show was called "That Girl".

Oh what a foolish squid I've been

@spelvin214 I know Tony Thomas, through a friend, since childhood, that was involved with Tony for years. I recently ran into Marlo at a restaurant and I didn't even recognize her. It wasn't THAT GIRL..it was WHAT GIRL?
Too many plastic surgeries. Sad. She was a great beauty.

Maureen evidently was not the only one. Ready Shirley Temple's biography. Shirley said that when she was in her teens, Jessel tried to force himself on her in her dressing room. According to Shirley, she gave him a drop kick in the crotch, and he slithered out the door. Go Shirley!
Jessel was an accomplished man in show business, no doubt. Credit where credit is due. But he was a notorious letch.

I remember reading that when Marlo Thomas wanted to become an actress, she nagged her rich father into paying for a nose job. Let's not be naive about "beauty." ... George Jessel wasn't even two full months older than Bennett Cerf. They both looked darn good. ... George Jessel's second wife was five years older than he was, but his third wife was 16 when he married her. He was 42 at the time. It lasted three years.
danng! marlo thomas was hoooot! lets hope they invent time machines soon.

Jessel: They guessed him immediately, and now, almost nobody remembers him. Fame is fleeting, kids: GO FOR THE MONEY.
