This is absolutely beautiful. I've listened to it five times today. Ear candy.

@logicbdj no, a melody is the easy way to appeal to the lowest common denominator. that has already been done. ironic that you say that since this music is MUCH more challenging for a composer to make. this is music for the 1%er's, so it's expected to not appeal to most people but i, for one, am extremely grateful that there are people out there willing to drop musical conventions and just create beauty without any rules, forms, or guidelines.

wow. this is incredible. love the dissonance (or as some people refer to it, "out of tune"). the ebb and flow is amazing. i think around 3:25 i kinda teared up a little when those horns came in. seriously. very expansive and beautiful.

Hi Chris, I couldn't figure out another way to respond to your message. You can find the video on a DVD released by the Filmmuseum München of Berlin, die Sinfonie der Grosstadt and Melodie der Welt. It is the whole Opus 2, which is much shorter that Opus 1. I would be interested to see the film with your accompanying music. Regards, Ken

I guess you can tell I was in a crappy mood at the time of posting that, lol.

Really, who would listen to this more than once, besides the mothers of the people involved? Music that lasts and sustains over time is something that can be hummed and melodic in nature. Jimmy Page needs to teach how a bow can be used; and the other guitar playing is nothing more than some random notes to fill the space.
