Holy shit, listen to that opening riff. Zappa could have been successful at any type of music humanely imaginable. I agree with the statement about Clapton, "he did to blues what kenny g did to jazz." Good analogy. Clapton obviously has great technical skill, but I find it lacking in soul. Just my opinion.

I'm into guitar players, and my favorites are George Benson, Steve Howe, Larry Carlton, others. But I never thought of Clapton in the same league as the above. Not really a fan oh his playing. He is an example of "hype".
I think muffins (the bakery variety) were a staple of his diet as much as the famous gourmet burnt weenie sandwiches that he cooked over the gas stove.

Zappa was one of the best concerts I've ever seen, and his band was definitely the tightest I've ever witnessed.
