You are incorrect. Paul Vance, a multi-gold record song writerr, wrote this song about his then-9 year old daughter in the early 1960's. Paul Vance is alive and well and living in Florida, and continues to receive his due royalties from ASCAP. That other guy was an imposter and lied to his wife, Rosie LaRue. When he died, she reported it to the Associated Press, and those morons did not bother to verify her story.
